Similar to many other organizations around the globe, the Tennessee state government utilizes a third-party company called CrowdStrike for cybersecurity monitoring. We were negatively impacted by an update that was pushed to all CrowdStrike customers last evening. The CrowdStrike update was pushed into the State’s environment starting at 11:00 p.m. CST on Thursday, July 18, 2024. CrowdStrike has communicated that the issue is not a cyber-attack, and we can confirm that no citizen data has been compromised.

We are quickly assessing the impact on our IT environment while ensuring that critical needs are being met. We are aware that several of our agency software applications are impacted which means some of our government services may not be available today. We are working hard to restore all software applications as quickly as possible and sincerely regret the impact to the citizens of the State of Tennessee. We will provide an update once all software applications have been restored.

Thank you.
