NASHVILLE —Agriculture Commissioner Jai Templeton is announcing the appointment of Will Freeman as public information officer for the Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA).
NASHVILLE – The ice and snow lingering across Tennessee have made feeding and transporting livestock a challenge. Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam has issued an executive order to ease some restrictions for movement of livestock feed and poultry to market.
When the temperature drops, the risk of avian influenza rises. The Tennessee Department of Agriculture is advising poultry owners to take precautions to safeguard their flocks. Avian influenza has not been detected in any domesticated poultry in Tennessee in 2018.
