NASHVILLE--Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions Commissioner Greg Gonzales announced today that the maximum effective formula rate of interest in Tennessee is 9.50 percent per annum. The rate is based on a ceiling of 4 percent over the weekly average prime loan rate of 5.50 percent as published by the Federal Reserve on August 22, 2022.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Oak Ridge based UT-Battelle, which manages the Oak Ridge National Laboratory for the U.S. Department of Energy, is being recognized as one of the nation’s 15 recipients of the 2022 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to Carlos Flores Ramirez, owner of Carmen’s Taqueria, pleading guilty Thursday. Judge Barry Tidwell accepted Ramirez’ guilty plea to five counts of tax fraud and placed him on six years’ supervised probation. He also ordered Ramirez to pay $304,745.77 in restitution.
