TDFI Mortgage, Consumer Lending & Money Transmission
The Compliance Division is responsible for the licensing and regulatory supervision of the following types of financial institutions operating in Tennessee: Check Cashing Companies, Deferred Presentment Companies, Flexible Credit Companies, Industrial Loan & Thrift Companies, Money Transmitters, Mortgage Brokers, Lenders and Servicers, Premium Finance Companies, and Title Pledge Lending Companies. In that capacity, the Division is responsible for the evaluation of applications for licensure, the issuance and maintenance of licenses and registrations for those companies, and the periodic examination of licensed entities to ensure compliance with both State and Federal Laws.
