Amanda Snowden is the Director of Region 1, located in Knoxville. It is her responsibility to direct department operations throughout the 24-county East Tennessee region. Major areas of operational responsibilities are highway maintenance and repair, construction engineering, traffic and highway marking, bridge repair and inspection, state aid program and administration, materials and tests, highway beautification, environmental planning, and office administration, including personnel matters.
