HIGHLIGHTS

  • Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee requested an Expedited Major Disaster Declaration today as another step toward obtaining federal recovery assistance for Tennessee’s flood-impacted counties.

CURRENT SITUATION

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee has also sent a request, via FEMA, to President Biden for an Expedited Major Disaster Declaration for the four counties impacted in Saturday’s catastrophic flooding - Dickson, Hickman, Houston, and Humphreys.

Gov. Lee’s request is an additional step, along with the joint preliminary damage assessments TEMA and FEMA are coordinating with local officials in Dickson, Hickman, Houston, and Humphreys counties today, toward obtaining federal recovery assistance.

Local power outages are down to 2,500 in Humphreys County and 200 in Hickman County. Electrical power is fully restored in Houston County and Dickson County.

FATALITIES

The Tennessee Department of Health has confirmed 16 weather-related fatalities in Humphreys County as of this evening. This total is preliminary and pending further updates from local medical officials. No further details are available at this time.

RECOVERY HELP

  • Crisis Cleanup has established help line at 615-338-7404 where flood survivors can request volunteer clean-up assistance.
  • The Reunification Center at McEwen High School, 335 Melrose St. in McEwen, Tenn., will be open until 5 p.m. today. The Center will be open Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • The American Red Cross has set up a Flood in Tennessee online resource on www.safeandwell.org where flood survivors can register and let family and friends know they are safe.
