The Elevator & Amusement Device Safety Board is comprised of eight (8) members who share industry knowledge, expertise and hear issues concerning elevators, other conveyances as well as amusement devices. Presentations by owners, operators and industry representatives are made, and board members determine if variances should be granted or if an action is consistent with current rules and law. When appropriate, the board makes recommendations to the department to amend rules, law, etc. through the rule-making process or via legislation.

The Medical Payment Committee is comprised of seven voting members appointed by the administrator. Three members represent the medical provider industry, three members represent the workers’ compensation insurance industry, and the medical director serves as the final member of the committee. The committee shall hear disputes on medical bill payments between providers and insurers and advise the administrator on issues relating to the medical fee schedule and medical care cost containment in the workers’ compensation system.

The Board of Boiler Rules supports the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Workplace Regulations and Compliance Division, Boiler Unit, to protect the general public, owners and users, and their employees from the potential hazards inherent in the operation of boilers and pressure vessels. The Board of Boiler Rules is composed of six (6) members.
