    NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) marks a century of progress at its annual educational conference in Murfreesboro which begins Wednesday, June 12. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the passage of the first workers’ compensation bill in Tennessee, BWC will host a gala at the Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro.

  • March 2019 County Unemployment Rates Continue to Stay Low

    NASHVILLE – Eighty of Tennessee’s 95 counties recorded an unemployment rate in March 2019 that is lower compared to the same time last year according to newly released data from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD). Also, in the year-to-year comparison, the rates in nine counties held steady, while six counties saw increases.

  • Tennessee's Unemployment Rate Hits Record Low in February

    NASHVILLE – The statewide unemployment rate in Tennessee dropped to a new historic low in February according to data released Thursday by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD). The seasonally adjusted rate of 3.2 percent is 0.1 of a percentage point lower than the previous historic low.
