Iris Garden at Ellington

AgEacIris

The Middle Tennessee Iris Society, an affiliate of the American Iris Society, hosts many events at Ellington Agricultural Center. The most dramatic and welcoming sign of their presence is a gazebo and iris garden, carefully maintained by MTIS volunteers. Plants representing the winners of each annual Iris Show give the planting special interest to fanciers of Tennessee's state flower. It is best seen when the flowers are blooming in April, May, and June.

In 2000, the Iris Garden was recognized by the Governor as an official Tennessee Bicentennial Iris Garden.

Note: All weddings held at the Ellington Agricultural Center are conducted in the Iris Garden. We regret that we are unable to make exceptions to this rule. To book a wedding or event in the Iris Garden, call Ginny Russell of the Middle Tennessee Iris Society after 6 p.m. at 615-883-4338. Please give as much advance notice as possible for reserving this popular venue.

The Middle Tennessee Iris Society holds an Iris Show at the Agricultural Center each May, and everyone is welcome to participate. For details, or to learn more about the MTIS, please visit their Facebook page.
