VETS Bravo

Starting July 1, 2024, ten years after the Tennessee Veterans Transition Support (VETS) Act was signed into law, VETS Campuses now have an opportunity to become a VETS Bravo Campus. VETS Bravo Campuses analyze the annual student veteran survey, invest in a VETS Campus Bravo Liaison by encouraging professional development, have an established peer mentoring or other support program geared toward military-connected students, and helps military-connected students engage with the workforce through a career services initiative. Both the peer mentoring or other support program and tailored career services must be in place for at least one academic year (fall and spring semester).

To become a VETS Bravo Campus, institutions must have been designated a VETS campus for no less than the three-consecutive-year period immediately preceding the date a request for certification as a VETS Bravo campus is submitted. Submit an official request at this VETS Bravo Application. Documents and information that will be needed when submitting the request are:

  1. Signed letter from the President of the institution requesting Bravo status;
  2. Contact information for designated VETS Campus Bravo liaison (and any professional development certificates already obtained);
    3. A filled-out PDF version of this document with a brief description of the annual student survey, career services, and peer mentoring or similar program for military-connected students.
    4. Additional material, flyers, website, and anything else associated with the programs/services that have been offered for at least one academic year.
