Session Description

Tennessee Workers’ Compensation laws restrict coverage to a specific definition of mental injuries.  A psychology specialist will explain the implications of these laws, including the present assessment and issues related to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), treatment options, and return-to-work.  As time permits, he may also delve into the impact of mental illness on many of the poor results for physical injuries that can be traced to pre-existing, concomitant or developing mental health conditions.  Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the medical implications of the definition of mental injuries.
  2. Assess the conditions that might accompany that injury.
  3. Explain how it impacts treatment and results.
