March 2019 Elevator & Amusement Device Safety Board Meeting
March 5, 2019The Elevator & Amusement Device Safety Board will hold a meeting on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 9:00 A.M. (C.S.T). The meeting will be held at the office of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development located at 220 French Landing Drive, Nashville, Tennessee 37243. The TOSHA Room on the 1st Floor will be utilized. The Elevator & Amusement Device Safety Board is comprised of eight (8) members who share industry knowledge, expertise and hear issues concerning elevators, other conveyances as well as amusement devices. Presentations by owners, operators and industry representatives are made, and board members determine if variances should be granted or if an action is consistent with current rules and law. When appropriate, the board makes recommendations to the department to amend rules, law, etc. through the rule-making process or via legislation.

March Medical Payment Committee Meeting
March 6, 2019The Medical Payment Committee is comprised of seven voting members appointed by the administrator. Three members represent the medical provider industry, three members represent the workers’ compensation insurance industry, and the medical director serves as the final member of the committee. The committee shall hear disputes on medical bill payments between providers and insurers and advise the administrator on issues relating to the medical fee schedule and medical care cost containment in the workers’ compensation system.

Board of Boiler Rules March Meeting
March 13, 2019The Board of Boiler Rules supports the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Workplace Regulations and Compliance Division, Boiler Unit, to protect the general public, owners and users, and their employees from the potential hazards inherent in the operation of boilers and pressure vessels. The Board of Boiler Rules is composed of six (6) members.

March Medical Advisory Committee Meeting
March 26, 2019The Medical Advisory Committee is comprised of practitioners in the medical community having experience in the treatment of workers’ compensation injuries, representatives of the insurance industry, employer representatives, and employee representatives to assist the administrator in the development of the treatment guidelines and advise the administrator on issues relating to medical care in the Workers’ Compensation system.
