Major Allen Leverette

Major Allen Leverette has been in law enforcement for 20 years. He began his career at the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, where he worked midnight patrol and was named deputy of the year twice during his tenure. In 2005 he joined the Tennessee Highway Patrol where he was assigned to the Lawrenceburg District until 2008, when he transferred to the Nashville District. In 2010 he was named the Interdiction Plus Team Leader and became a K-9 handler, partnering with a dual-purpose patrol dog named Rusty. In 2013 Allen was assigned to the DEA as a task force officer and continued to utilize a K-9 while performing interdiction at the Nashville International Airport. He has extensive training and experience in the area of interdiction and has served as a training instructor for the Tennessee Highway Patrol. 

In 2015 Leverette was promoted to sergeant in the Criminal Investigations Division and transferred to the Nashville District Headquarters as the Administrative Sergeant in 2016.  Leverette completed his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at Bethel University in 2016 and attended the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command in 2019.  Leverette  was promoted to Lieutenant in 2017, where he served as the Nashville District’s Administrative Lieutenant. Leverette was promoted to Major and served as the Executive Officer. In 2024 Leverette became the Major over the Special Investigations Bureau.
